Donald Thomas Williams
April 15, 1932 – June 18, 2025
It is with deep sadness and enduring love that we announce the passing of Donald Thomas Williams, who departed this life peacefully on the morning of June 18, 2025, at the age of 93.
Born in Brooklyn, New York in 1932, Donald was raised in Fort Lee, New Jersey, and later built his life and raised his family in Demarest, New Jersey. A proud and loving husband to Maria, Donald was the heart of his family-father to Basil and Karl, and grandfather to Alexander, Nicholas, Thomas, Katarina, Basil, Ethan, Mariella, Christian, and Philip.
At the center of Donald's world was Maria, his beloved wife and partner. His devotion to her was unwavering; he cherished her presence and always ensured she received the love, care, and attention she deserved from the entire family. Their bond was an enduring example of loyalty, respect, and true affection.
Donald devoted over six decades to a distinguished career as a stockbroker, beginning under the guidance of his father Basil Sr. and continuing side-by-side with his brother Basil Jr. His work was defined not just by professionalism, but by personal warmth, integrity, and a commitment to clients who often became friends.
Donald was a proud Greek American who cherished his heritage. He nurtured lifelong friendships within the Greek community and made frequent trips to Greece-first as a young man, then with Maria, and later with his sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren. Those journeys deepened his family's roots and created lasting memories. His faith, culture, and friendships within the Greek American community were a constant source of joy and strength throughout his life.
Known for his incredible memory, keen wit, and a sociable spirit that never dimmed, Donald left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He had a gift for remembering names, places, and conversations-no matter how long ago they occurred-and he treasured those connections deeply.
Whether seated at his own bar, Karl's bar, or Basil's bar, Donald was always the gracious host-mixing the perfect cocktail and drawing others into heartfelt conversation. He had a way of bringing people together, making each person feel heard, remembered, and welcome.
Above all, Donald lived a life of selflessness. In every aspect-family, friendships, or profession-he put the needs of others ahead of his own, embodying a quiet strength, deep generosity, and unwavering grace.
He will be missed beyond words, remembered with love, and celebrated for a life beautifully lived.
