Obituary of Alexa Munoz

Alexa Munoz, entered into eternal rest on Sunday May 25, 2025. She was the beloved sister to Marisol Munoz and Evelyn Munoz Compton (Jeffrey). Loving aunt to Ciara Burgos and Theodore Glenn Compton.

She was a graduate of Manhattan College, Bachelor of Arts, English Literature in 1997. She continued her education at the New College of Education, where she completed her Multiple Subject Credential, BCLAD in 1999 and also her Master of Science, English Education in 2000.

Alexa taught Humanities for over 20 years in New York City Schools. She accomplished many things and awards as a teacher. Two of her many awards were Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition issued on March 26, 2010 and Certificate of Recognition from Making Choices: Young Womens Voices in Prose and Poetry issued on March 23, 1995.

Visitation will be held at Riverdale Funeral Home, 5044 Broadway, New york, NY 10034, on Thursday, May 29, 2025 from 1pm to 5pm.

Funeral Mass will be held at The Church of the Incarnation, 1295 St. Nicholas Ave, New York, NY 10033 on Friday, May 30, 2025 from 10:30am to 11:30am.

Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery, 2 Saw Mill River Road, Yonkers, NY. 10701.
