Aurea E. Texidor, 95, passed away peacefully, at home, on May 16, 2025.  Aurea was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a member of the Inwood community for over 40 years and a valued member of R.A.I.N. Inwood Senior Center since 1995.

Aurea was born on November 13, 1929 in Cayey, Puerto Rico to Ramon Del Valle and Virginia Leon. She moved to New York City in 1948 with her father. She met her husband Reyes Texidor at Church in 1953 and had two children. Aurea Texidor worked as Home Attendant for 30 years before she retired at the age of 75.

Aurea is survived by her daughter, Noemi Texidor, her three loving grandchildren, and her four cherished great - grandchildren.

Aurea was known for her kindness, her compassion and her resilience. She loved dancing, spending time with her family, and being part of her community. Aurea will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all those fortunate enough to know her and be loved by her. 

The family will be present to receive friends at the Riverdale Funeral Home on Friday May 23, 2025 from 4pm to 8pm.
