With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Soriano Serrano, affectionately known as Papo. He left this world on April 22, 2025, at 4:18 PM, at the age of 58. Though his body grew tired, Papo passed peacefully, having fought with strength and courage until the very end. He is now at rest, free from pain, and in the arms of God.

Papo was born on September 27, 1966, in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, and moved to New York City as a child. From the start, he lived a life of purpose, compassion, and joy. He dedicated many years to working in the alarm system industry across New York City, quietly and humbly making the world a little safer each day. But his work was only one part of who he was. More than anything, Papo was known for his open heart, vibrant personality, and unwavering faith.

He had a deep and abiding love for God, and his faith guided him in treating everyone he met with kindness, humility, and generosity. He never hesitated to support others, no matter their background or circumstances. Whether it was family, a friend, or a stranger in need, he showed up with love, wisdom, and sincerity.

Papo also had a joyful, playful spirit that left an imprint on everyone who knew him. He loved to laugh, dance, and be silly, and he always knew how to bring a smile to the room and lighten hearts with his humor and energy. He had a gift for turning ordinary moments into memories and making people feel safe, seen, and valued.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Soriano Serrano and Luz Maria Torres. He is survived by his child, Amaris Nicole Serrano, from his marriage to the late Stacey Denise Bell. Amaris was the light of his life and his greatest source of pride. She will always carry his memory, strength, and laughter. Papo also leaves behind his devoted partner of over twenty years, Saraill Blas, who brought love and companionship to his life.

Though he is no longer physically with us, his spirit lives on in the people he touched and the love he gave so freely. His circle of family members, friends, coworkers, and loved ones were blessed to know him. Papo’s legacy is one of generosity, resilience, joy, and faith. As it says in 2 Timothy 4:7: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."
