Obituary of Sean Michael Witherspoon

Sean Michael Witherspoon was born on March 8, 2008 at Harlem Hospital, the beloved son of Venus Martinez and Solomon Witherspoon. Sean Michael departed this life on March 18, 2025 at the tender age of 17, after a long illness.

            Sean attended community High School in Teaneck New Jersey where he was a junior, where he was able to make the honor roll several times despite his illness. He made many friends at Community but two special people stood out the most, Jaden and Ani who were by his side throughout his illness. Sean was also known for his smile, he was a handsome and loving young man who touched the lives of many with his generosity, kindness and creativity. He was able to draw most anything and he was able to sculpture many things from foil.

            Sean had a love for Sneakers, wrestling, action figures such as King Kong and Godzilla and loved the New York Rangers.

He was able to make friends everywhere, Sean even had a team of doctors, nurses, social workers and child life specialists who were referred to as “Sean’s Angels”. He had a buddy Amir  with whom he shared a special bond. He also loved spending time with his Grandma and family members in Baltimore.

            Sean leaves his cherished memory with his parents Venus and Solomon, grandparents Zelda and James, his sister Aliyah, aunt Danielle. His first cousin Asana, two special cousins Elon and Jagger, Uncle Stevie, aunts Samara, Belinda, Melissa, Martha and aunt Aretha and a host of cousins and other relatives

He was pre deceased by aunts Luvenia Giddins and Susie Witherspoon.
