Obituary of Margarita P Jorge

Con corazones llenos de tristeza, anunciamos el fallecimiento de Margarita P. Jorge, quien se fue en paz el 13 de marzo de 2025, a la edad de 94 años. Nacida el 27 de enero de 1931 en la República Dominicana, Margarita, cariñosamente conocida como “Tata,” vivió una vida llena de amor, bondad y un espíritu inquebrantable. Falleció en su hogar en la ciudad de Nueva York, rodeada de su amada familia y amistades.

Tata fue una matriarca apreciada, una madre orgullosa y devota, y una abuela cariñosa. Su calidez y generosidad no conocían límites, y su hogar siempre estuvo abierto para aquellos que necesitaban un abrazo reconfortante, una palabra amable o simplemente una taza de café. Fue el corazón y el alma de su familia, siempre allí con un oído atento, una presencia constante y una sonrisa contagiosa que iluminaba cada lugar por donde pasaba.

Su legado de amor, compasión y fortaleza continuará viviendo en los corazones de todos los que tuvieron el privilegio de conocerla. Los innumerables actos de bondad que extendió a los demás nunca serán olvidados. Deja una profunda huella en su familia, amigos y comunidad, y será profundamente extrañada por todos.

Se celebrará un servicio conmemorativo el sábado 15 de marzo, de 3:00 PM a 7:00 PM en la Funeraria Riverdale. Una misa y el entierro se llevarán a cabo el lunes 17 de marzo, a las 9:00 AM en la Iglesia Nuestra Señora Reina de los Mártires.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Margarita P. Jorge, who peacefully left us on March 13, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on January 27, 1931, in the Dominican Republic, Margarita, affectionately known as “Tata,” lived a life filled with love, kindness, and an unwavering spirit. She passed away at her home in New York City, surrounded by her beloved family and friends.

Tata was a cherished matriarch, a proud and devoted mother, and a loving grandmother. Her warmth and generosity knew no bounds, and her home was always open to those in need of a comforting embrace, a kind word, or simply a cup of coffee. She was the heart and soul of her family, always there with a listening ear, a steady presence, and an infectious smile that brightened every room she entered.

Her legacy of love, compassion, and strength will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. The countless acts of kindness she extended to others will never be forgotten. She leaves behind a profound impact on her family, friends, and community, and will be deeply missed by all.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 15th, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Riverdale Funeral Home. A mass and burial will follow on Monday, March 17th, at 9:00 AM at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church.
