Obituary of Alfred E Kleinbardt

"Alfred (Fred or Freddy) E. Kleinbardt, passed away on January 15 in Riverdale, NY at the age of 103.
Memorial service will be held at Riverdale Funeral Home at 5044 Broadway,NewYork, NY 10034 on Saturday Feb. 22nd. at 1pm, with an informal get together and greeting of guests starting at 12 PM.
Alfred Emmanuel Kleinbardt was born in Munich, Germany to Ernest and Marie (Weger) Kleinbardt on July 15, 1921. His family immigrated to the United States in 1929 settling in Brooklyn, New York, where he would later graduate from Erasmus High School. He went on to earn an Art degree from Cooper Union. At the outbreak of World War II, he joined the US Army and served in the European theater.
After the war, he worked for an advertising agency on Madison Avenue before starting his own companies, first SRK design, and later Plaza Three Design.
Alfred was an avid fisherman and in later years, he and his wife took up what they called “deer hunting,” which involved driving around Greenfield Hill, Wilton, Weston, and Westport before sunset seeing who could spot the most deer grazing and out enjoying life.
He is predeceased by his lovely wife Beatrice of 74 years, his middle son Jeffrey and his sisters, Thea and Ruth and brother Eugen. He is survived by his sons, Robert and Kevin, of New York and Greenwich, respectively. He is further survived by his daughters-in-law, Diane and Kristen and his grandchildren Freddy, Hannah, Gracie, Sophie and Grayson along with great grandchildren, Noel, Derek, Brandon and Avery .
