Con profundo pesar, anunciamos el fallecimiento de Félix DeJesus-Batista, quien nació el 9 de junio de 1930 y partió de este mundo el 2 de junio de 2024. Nacido en la República Dominicana, Félix fue el hermano mayor de 13 hermanos, a quienes guió y cuidó como una figura paterna.

Félix sirvió en el ejército y trabajó en el poder judicial antes de emigrar a los Estados Unidos a principios de los años 70. En su nuevo hogar, comenzó trabajando en una fábrica y, con su dedicación y esfuerzo, ascendió a supervisor en su área.

Padre amoroso de cuatro hijos, Anulfo, Raquel, Marisol (quien ya falleció), Andrés y Félix (Felito), Félix fue un hombre que disfrutaba de los placeres sencillos de la vida. Amante del béisbol, la música, los juegos de dominó, las aventuras y la buena comida, Félix siempre encontraba alegría en compartir momentos con sus seres queridos.

Aunque luchó contra la enfermedad en sus últimos años, su mente se mantuvo fuerte y siempre apreció las visitas de sus familiares y amigos. La memoria de Félix DeJesus-Batista vivirá en los corazones de todos aquellos que tuvieron la fortuna de conocerlo y amarlo. Será recordado y extrañado profundamente por sus seres más queridos.

Descansa en paz, Félix. Tu legado y amor perdurarán para siempre.

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Félix DeJesus-Batista, who was born on June 9, 1930, and departed from this world on June 2, 2024. Born in the Dominican Republic, Félix was the eldest of 13 siblings, whom he guided and cared for as a father figure.

Félix served in the military and worked in the judiciary before immigrating to the United States in the early 70s. In his new home, he started working in a factory and, through dedication and hard work, rose to the position of supervisor in his area.

A loving father to four children, Anulfo, Raquel, Marisol (who has passed away), Andrés, and Félix (Felito), Félix was a man who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved baseball, music, playing dominoes, adventures, and good food, always finding joy in sharing moments with his loved ones.

Although he battled illness in his later years, his mind remained strong, and he always cherished visits from his family and friends. The memory of Félix DeJesus Batista will live on in the hearts of all who had the fortune to know and love him. He will be deeply remembered and missed by his most cherished loved ones.

Visitation will be held at Riverdale Funeral Home Inc. 5044 Broadway, New York on Thursday, June 6, 2024 from 4pm - 8 pm.

Interment will be held at Maryrest Cemetery, 770 Darlington Avenue, Mahweh, New Jersey 07430 at 11:30am.
